Cyartisan always handsewn his products with the best twisted Linen thread in the market.Depending on the thickness of Leather or the final Product that we would like to create, we are using 3 to 8 ply 100% pure twisted Linen Thread.This Linen Thread previously came from:
- Hoogen (Germany) Linen thread 6-8 ply mostly used for our english Bridle leather Belts.
- Barbours (Ireland) Linen thread 3-6 ply used for Belts and Accesoires
- Fil au Chinois (France) 3-4 ply mainly used for Accessoires.
Linen thread is very strong but to make it stronger and more durable before starting with the Saddlestitch, we lightly hand waxed the linen thread with beeswax. This will solidify the linen thread in the leather after a while and permanently lock each stitch in place. Also the Beeswax will significantly protect each over-stitch from humidity and from the passage of time.
